Celebrant SJ – Sarah Jayne Hall
Hi there!
Straight off the bat, it’s not about me. Your ceremony will be bespoke to you.
But, just so you have a bit of background on the person you’re entrusting your special occasion to, here’s my brief story.
I’m Sarah-Jayne, but everyone calls me SJ. I was born and bread in the North West. I spent my earlier years in Poynton, Cheshire, and then later in Manchester when I studied at The University of Salford.
I’ve spent more than 14 years in the TV industry, in the galleries of ITV and BBC, as a director and vision mixer. So, you might say, I know how to put on a show.
I have acting credits too, so I feel at ease in front of a crowd, while I’ve recently dipped my toe into the world of coding, constructing my website myself.
I trained with the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants and I’m a member of the organisation. I abide by their code of ethics and I also have Public Liability Insurance under their umbrella scheme.
And some other random stuff about me…
My family has an eclectic mix of heritage and nationality within it, my Mum is Filipino, my Uncle is Croatian and my husband is from Wigan!
My first job in TV was washing up for a pilot cooking programme called ‘Too Many Cooks’, Gino D’Campo was the host. Nobody knew him at the time, but look at him now! I ate like a Queen for two weeks whilst I worked on that show. Gino always made the crew a fantastic meal at the end of each day.
I love tennis, musicals (my top 3 are Hamilton, Les Miserable and The Lion King), coding (html, CSS and JavaScript for any computer nerds out there) and Tunnock’s teacakes.
I’m smiley by nature, but take your ceremony seriously.
